Hi, I'm an amateur photographer from venezuela. I started many years ago taking photos with a Leica IIIf given by my stepfather, I left photography for many years and recently resumed it in a digital format, but my taste for old cameras is still intact. I recently bought a camera Ikonta Zeiss 521/16 B in a local flea market. The serial number in the body is P 33722 ending with a star symbol. It has a 4.5 - 7.5 cms Novar - Anastigmat lens. I wanted to find out in which year and where this camera was manufactured. Hoping to start collecting other vintage cameras and to learn from the experts.

Welcome to this forum, Eleazar!
Your Ikonta I was made in 1949-1950 from new parts and prewar parts kept in storage. Such is the (believed) meaning of the star (asterisk) after the production number P33722.
Tnx for the information. Hans

Hello Hans, thanks for this valuable information. A local repairplace with experience in old equipments told me the camera was in very good shape. I´ve already shot a couple Ilford 400 films and this will be the real test. I hope I can post some nice photos and share my experience.
Best regards,
Eleazar
