Thanks for all your 3D photos. Much appreciated. And (appreciation) 2 for doing it all a second time. Let's hope that (appreciation) 3 won't be necessary. The few pictures I've posted here through Photobucket are still displaying, but I suppose it's just a matter of time. Nice to hear my work is apreciated. I don't think i could go through it a third time , should this happen then it would truly mean the end. It's impossible to restore all of my 500+ posts, but should anybody stumble upon a post of wich he or she wants to see the pics again, then let me know and i'll restore them. luckily i've got them all backed up. Aparantly more hosting sites are pulling a "photobucket cash in" trick

Some forums have switched over to providing storage space for photos and displaying them as attachments rather than linked images. Apparently software exists to allow an administrator to make a rapid conversion from links to attachments. As the last post in the attached m4/3 thread describes, some hope for salvaging links may actually exist. link to m4/3 posting

Here is a test using an attachment ... Do you other folks see the image? A disadvantage is that only a thumbnail is shown and you have to click it to see the image full size. Also attachments are size limited. I did have an idea that we had used up all our space for attachments but now I'm not sure. Needs some further testing.

In reply to your query, I can see your "thumbnail" image and clicking on it opens a larger version.

Same here - I see the thumbnail and it goes to a larger image. Good enough for me.

Imageshack did similar a few years ago. If I recall correctly the free account went from be able to store a lot, to only the last 200 being retained. At the moment Flickr still has big storage on free accounts, unless things have changed in the few weeks since I looked. However, Flickr and the others will probably follow suit given time.
As regards the on-board hosting, the thumbnail is visible to all but the full size picture is only accessible if logged in.

Well Photobucket have shot themselves in the foot, they appear to be in deep financial trouble as well, and my advice is to download any vital pictures and close the account. I fully understand there's no such thing as a free lunch, but Photobucket was advert supported, and this business model should work, with a percentage taking up full membership. Obviously an accountant has read the riot act to them bout business and they have jumped to the wrong answer. I doubt any postings of mine will need the pictures, if you find one that interest you I can try to find the picture, but I cannot spend days going through the old pictures and re posting. I may try the recommended site in future.

I've already closed one of my PB accounts. I'll leave the one with my photographic images until they catch up with me then I'll close it. I only used PB for 3rd party hosting and all of the images are already on my computer.
