Hello, Well, looks like a cheery group. By way of introduction: Some of you may know me from various Nikon collectors' groups, the Zeiss Historica Society and the Vintage Camera Collectors. I collect, own and use a few. select brands of cameras based on personal taste rather than quality or other criteria. I am particularly interested in Nikon rangefinder cameras, Nikon in general, The Zeiss Ikon Tenax II and other 24X24 cameras and the Agfa Silette series, particularly the Ambi Silette.
I am the author of the Book "The Nikon Camera in America, 1946-1953" published by McFarland Pubs and the book "The TenaX II: Zeiss Ikon's Precision, Fast-action Camera" published by Hemlock Lodge Press. So I know a bit about both these areas of old cameras. If you have questions, I will try to help. Cheers, WES LODER

Wow, welcome!
My only 24x24 is a Tenax I. First 35mm camera I used was a borrowed Silette, a humble type with Apotar lens.

Which model Silette? There were lots of versions. Currently researching the Ambi Silette, but my first 35mm camera was a Type 5 Silette with 45mm f2.8 Apotar. Still own it, but shutter is frozen.

It was the same model as this one (given to a friend, long ago).
