Randy, that is a VERY nice Minolta collection. I have my original XG-7, which does not work any more. Plus I have since collected a couple of SRT's. I love those, they're built like tanks! I have a few cameras with peeling or missing leather. Your recovers are beautiful. That may be a future project for one of mine.

Thank you, Mickey!
And since you mentioned it, I've added the Exakta 66 outfit to my wish list.

Oooops! Was this supposed to be "rangefinders only" for this fantasy? Sorry about that. If I could edit my fantasy choice it would be one of Henri Cartier Bresson's cameras! Or the Leica that just sold at the auction for a bundle. Am I being too far out?

Since this one is of pure fantasy, I'd like to buy one of NASA's Hasselblads. Like the ones they used in the Gemini missions. Or maybe the custom made ones for the moon landings. Now that would be so cool. I don't have ANY Hasselblad cameras in my collection. But if I could have any one, something definitely from NASA. It just adds so much to the "COOL" factor. Just having the little tag on it that says "Property of N.A.S.A." would make it priceless.

Hey guys, in regards to shaving; I use plain cheapo Suave hair conditioner. I stopped using shaving cream and started this after reading about it in the paper. It's been 20 years or so. It's much cheaper and I can see where I've shaved better than when I have lather on.

Thank you Dave! I'm just starting to figure out this type of website. Being so ignorant, I only look for the "messages" to me personally, which there have been none lately. So I have to look up where I last posted, like this one. I'm a little slow, but I'll get it! Ha Ha. The vintage audio equipment is all so great to see. Rachel's Thorens turntable is a beauty!! I just put some vinyl onto CD for a friend at work. She gets a kick out of hearing the tiny scratchy sound at the beginning of the record when she starts the cd. She said she hadn't heard that sound in over 25 years. It was very nostalgic for her.

Is it too late to post to this thread? Last entry was 8 months ago. Well, here goes...... My other hobbies are ANY aspect of photography, (shooting (all formats) , darkroom, digital, history, everything!) Old movies, and music. (Vinyl, CD, radio, anything!) Right now I am playing Van Morrison! I am also a member of the Michigan Company of Military Historians and Collectors. I am not a Vet but most members are. We have some from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Cold War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and all periods in between. About 40 members, of all walks of life. It's fascinating to meet once a month with these men and women. Check our website at www.thecannonreport.org I'm the company photographer for our monthly guest speaker and annual formal banquet. It's great fun.

It was always "pop" in Michigan. We had new neighbors move from St. Louis MO, when I was 15, and it's the first time I ever heard someone call it "soda". (That was about 1971) Since my folks were born and raised in Wyoming, we called a paper bag a "sack" not a bag. When I say gunny sack, I get strange looks. When we're eating a lot, my Ma would say we were gutsin' Nobody in Michigan ever heard that one before!

Hi Randy. I've been sniped so many times on ebay I can't even remember. But I still manage to get some bargains. I've pounded my computer desk and screamed at the monitor many times. I have a friend who says other bidding sites avoid sniping by extending the bidding for 3 minutes if there are any bids during the last 30 seconds on an auction. (Or something to that effect) I've never heard the term Hunycock, I think I'll Google it. My folks were both born and raised in a tiny coal mining town, Hanna Wyoming. I used to call their words and phrases "Hanna sayings". They were from the blend of diverse immigrants from everywhere in the world. But over the years I've been hearing many of them on tv, and some in old movies from the 40's. I should write them down so they are not forgotten. One was "I didn't know that guy from Adam's off ox." I have NO IDEA what that means. Does anyone out there know? I'm preparing to photograph SOME of my camera collection and post it. Bear with me. Computers hate me. We'll see what happens. I must say that I really enjoy this site. I'm still new to it, but love it! JIM

Oh, by the way, I spent over an hour at Ron Herron's website today. He has a great collection and everyone should see it! Very impressive, Ron! And very informative, as well. Thanks for all the great info.

Thanks Bob and Dave!
I sure will shoot a roll and post some photos. I haven't shot 35mm film in about 5 years. It will be a novelty, especially with a Russian camera!! But I'm looking forward to it. I'll have a money order in the mail by Tuesday morning.

Hi Everyone! Jim here. Well, I want to thank Bob for the opportunity to get a Kiev Camera for my collection. And I don't have to pay for shipping from Belarus! What a treat.
And I want to thank you for the informative strings/threads (?) (I told you I'm not very computer savvy), about aps cameras you guys were having. I got so interested, I went on ebay and bought a Canon ELPH camera with a Buy It Now deal. The only APS camera I have is a basic Kodak I got at a garage sale, but it has a bunch of rolls of film with it. All for a buck!
I'm very glad to have found this site. I finally have people I can talk to, who don't think I'm nuts for collecting cameras the way I do.
You'll be hearing a lot from me.
Thanks again Bob, and everyone else too.

Hi Bob! I'm kinda new to this sight, and never looked at the classifieds. Any chance you still have the Kiev available? I hope so. The only Kiev Cameras I ever see are from Europe.
If it is available, is there some way you can let me know? I'm not exactly computer savvy.
