My wife and I were on vacation somewhere in Virginia when I spotted this old barn with tobacco hanging in it. Shot was made with my Canon FTb and probably 50mm lens, not too sure now. Bob Wright

If ya'll don't mind my joing in on a rather dated thread, here's a shot from Deadhorse Point, Utah: Memphis, Tennessee is just over the horizon, about 2,000 miles away. Bob Wright

These photos were made by my brother, who was with the 55th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force: On the back of this print he wrote "take-off, D-Day" A P-47 that had visited his base: Arming a P-38: The 55th later transitioned to P-51 Mustangs:

Not sure if I should add to an existing post that is several years old or not, so will start a new thread. This is what attracted my interest in cameras and photography, trying to photograph my guns. Here are a few of my .44 caliber revolvers: And thses are .45 Caliber revovlvers: I have a fondness for the single action western style six shooters. Bob Wright

Was that picture of the paddle wheel made recently? I thought the Mississippi river was so low that a boat that big couldn't navigate on it. It is low, river barges have to be loaded less than full weight. But as to paddlewheel steamboats, there is a saying that "you can float them in a heavy dew." Her draft is more than an old time steamboat, but able to navigate for now. Bob Wright

I always was a cowboy at heart. Local stables sometimes let me do the morning round-up. Quite a thrill driving in some sixty or seventy head of horses in a cloud of dust! This is me (in the hat) one wintry day: Bob Wright

If I may contribute to "Rivers" here is the American Queen docked at a landing just above Memphis, Tennessee: Just for scale, here is her paddle wheel, compare with the figure near the center of the wheel: Bob Wright

Many cameras just reach out and grab you because they have such a nice "feel" to them!
And the right touch of black and chrome.

Thank you for your response. We were in Toronto many years ago, took the harbor cruise. One thing I definitely remember is passing that old Landcaster bomber on static display along the way.

Being retired, we (my wife and I) aren't able to take such extended vacations as we once did. But, we do get out for a local drive now and then, especially when we get a rare snow. And old barns and buildings have become my favorite. Here is the remains of an old utility building near Memphis, Tennessee. Didn't know it was there as it was usually covered by summer foliage.
