Just reading this now, I hope you have a replacement XA. I think I saw some recent posts by you that were XA?

Hi Peter,
Great work! The detail in the first one is wonderful, especially the distant mountains contrasted to the lapping water in the foreground. Number two has some great saturated colors, and number four is very striking with the smooth stones and wind-blown grasses. Medium format lends itself to careful composition, I think, and your pictures have that quality.

Good story and interesting cameras, David! What flea market, if you don't mind? I'm also in San Francisco and would like to attend sometime. Is it the first-Saturday-of-the-month one on Bryant? I bought a very nice Yashicamat 124-G there, about a year ago. It seemed attendance was dropping off severely, the last time I went. Is it picking up again?
Thanks, Michael

Hi Mickey, I tried pressing this way and that, believe me ! I got advice from several people, to go ahead and pull for all I'm worth. The knob is designed to lift up, it's just very stiff. Apparently that's not unusual with this camera. I put a little lithium grease around the shaft and exercised it several times. It seems to be a wee bit easier now.. I've got a roll of Fuji Acros 100 loaded, and took a couple pics today.

I just got a Balda Hapo 66e (much like a Baldix) and the empty film spool it came with on the winding side, doesn't want to lift out. The carriage that holds it isn't swinging out. It seems I need to disengage the winding rod? How does one do that? I tried lifting the wind-on knob but don't want to force it. Help!

Hi Rick,
I guess the Coffee Shop pictures are not up anymore? Too bad, I'd like to see them..

A workmate brought in his father's Ricoh 500G the other day, retrieved from the garage. After cleaning the lens, replacing the light seals, and installing a 625A hearing aid battery (1.4v), I took a roll of C-41 B&W film. Had it developed at the drugstore, and the results were very pleasing! Now I'm wondering what a fair price to offer would be. Any suggestions? I'm thinking in the $15-20 range.

Thanks Michael for the unusual Welta Belmira -- left-mounted indeed.. And the Penti is a very deco design. I'll show it to my daughter, she likes that period of industrial design.

Thanks! I have been wondering what the difference is. Sounds like it's minimal..

Thanks Curt, I feel almost normal after looking at your collection of FSU cameras. I only have three Zorkis and two Feds! I did have a Kiev for a while, and have to admit I am tempted to get another one.
