I have had a good close look at the Exa, I do not think that it has ever had a film in it or through it. I took the Biometar out today fitted to my Sony a7 with an adapter. I tried it on some garden flowers but it was very windy. Wound the shutter speed and ISO up and it was good, rather spoiled by a very tight focus ring. I thought that it might free up with some use, but not yet. I will try the Flektogon out later this week.....

I had a very nice German made Rolleiflex SL35 which was perfect in every way. Then I bought a succession of Singapore made ones cheaply, every one had a major fault with the shutter or wind-on or mirror. When I compared the mechanical parts in the base they were completely different, there is a photo on this site comparing them. The lenses were ok.

As mentioned by me in the ebay finds area, Includes original box. Must be very rare. Offers?
Edit. Now back on eBay, having a clear out of my shelves, easy to find as it is the only one! There is my Kowa H on there as well.

Yes, I had to look it up! Just paid for it on eBay. Seems to be an East German metal box camera difficult to find on the 'net' and it may be from France? Who knows? But it comes with it's original box different and interesting. Further notes when it arrives. Sticking shutter resolved, interested to see that it has two apertures availble (big & small!)! Any offers to purchase?

Not a film camera, and too recent but the Ricoh GXR might fit the description? Almost!

Just purchased, another Miranda SLR, this time a Sensomat RS, which I like because of it's simplicity, no meter to go wrong nor battery to corrode. Apparently 2000 -2500 were sold. So fairly rare. A bargain at £29.
This Miranda is one of the nicest cameras that I have bought. looks as if it has never been used. Only downside is a rather stiff but smooth focus control, probably from lack of use. Even the black gloss ERC with its chrome ring on the front has only a few minor marks.

As noted in the 'Folders' section - a speculative purchase from eBay. Listed as Zeiss but I really have not identified this after a lot of research.
This appears to be a Krauss Knirps but with a lot of customizing in the shutter/lens area and viewfinder and internally more information welcome!

I have just looked at the viewfinder on the mystery camera. It appears to be a later addition. It looks like a Zeiss viewfinder. Square but masked with tape to a portrait form. Been trying all afternoon to identify it!
Also I have been trying to cock the shutter with the little lever under the lens. I have moved the shutter speed dial, but I cannot see the speed indicated and the shutter now works at varying speeds.

I have just bought from a well known auction site a small, old, folding camera with a flat back for plates or sheet film. I have done hours of research on the 'net and in McKeown's ( the whole 500+pages !) To find out the maker.
It has a Zeiss Tessar lens marked 1:4.5 f 55cm Carl Zeiss Jena Nr 542234, a Deckel shutter and the only other markings around the outside of the lens is the German DGRM, DRP patent notices. There is a tubular threaded brass accessory? about 18mm long which screws over the lens and has a rectangular mask.
The body is only 80 x 57mm at the rear made of steel. And obviously has no folding bed, but four spring loaded struts. The rear is rather strange, inside the 57mm x 38mm cavity there is a black card which has a 'portrait' style cut out 18 x 25mm which matches the viewfinder orientation.
The thin sliding back (steel) has a hinge with a card inside with an aperture of 18 x 25mm and a frosted plastic inside with a clear circle in the centre, all fitted in with shiny black tape. The body of the camera is finished in thick paint, probably hand painted. I suspect that there may have been a leatherette covering at some time with, possibly a makers name embossed. As it is there is not room for a plate inside the back and it is not light-tight. What the make is? It looks a bit like an Ernemann or but don't think so.The corners of the body are square, not rounded and the lens plate/mount is different. What use it was put to? And any idea of value?
Any help would be appreciated.

There is a 'unique' Leica on ebay at the moment. Gold plated & with a wood grain body. 3 available. How 'unique' is that?

Just arrived from eBay a clean Bencini Comet 111 and case. I remember the Bencini (Koroll?) cameras that used to grace the windows and shelves of every Boots chemist in the UK forty years ago.
This one, as you know, looks like a cine camera and is a great piece of design in my opinion. The leather case is nice on its owm.

I do understand that it might be rare, but I was watching a Pentacon Super spares or repairs with two lenses, quite difficult to see what they were, on eBay. This afternoon they sold for ............................£1021.

Just arrived - a Minolta A-2 from about 1955 with a 45mm f2.8 Chiyoko Rokkor lens. & Optiper MVL shutter. Everything works, the viewfinder (with brightline framing) is clear as is the accurate rangefinder. Reminds me of a Zeiss Contina. Very well made camera.

I admit it. I am still a collector. Just bought a black Pentax K2 with a f1.4 lens no brassing - desirable. No More!
