Hi, I'm compiling a web article about the little known Tanack cameras. I wonder if anyone here has anything at all Tanack in their collection? I would love to see information, ads, boxes, accessories as well as cameras, lenses and their serials. And if you have anything you would like to sell, I'm always interested. Message me in the first instance. Thanks! My Tanack IV-S with its close focus lens.

Canon had a different solution to flash automation. They produced a gun which connected to the focus ring of the camera, and passed distance information to the light meter. The diaghram match needle was used to set the aperture. I remember that, it was something we tried to sell. Computerised flash made it redundant

Interesting, I didn't know about the GN lenses. Many compacts had guide numbers connected to the focusing. But as you said, the advent of computer flash changed all that.

My favorite DSLR? I liked the ergonomics of my Nikon D700, but the D750 was much better in low light and had better autofocus. My first DSLR was the Nikon D40. A trusted salesman convinced me. I used it for a long time, then upgraded to a D3200. I found a big problem wanting to use classic lenses on the Nikon. As the back focus is very large, lenses needed modifying. I went to Sony Nex 5 and that opened up a whole world of classic lenses for me. I've had a couple of E mount Sonys, an Olympus M4/3 and a Nikon 1 system. I've settled on the E mount.

Hi Nikki, you cant post pictures on your first post. You will now see an 'add image to post' button, you can upload it from your device. click on REPLY button top right, not quick reply - that doesn't have the option of adding a picture Is it a Kodak Petite folding camera? If yes, it's likely worth $100 - $200. Unfortunately they use 127 size film, instead of film size that is currently in production. 127 Film is readily available now, but very expensive. Its possible to cut 120 to 127. I can post a tutorial if wanted.

Hello all I've joined this thread to find out about my little petite camera, it's also a lighter blue in colour, not sure how to upload a photo, it was left in my grandads house. My kids have asked to play with it but I wanted to know if they are if any value before I let them play with it.. it seems pretty robust and is empty of fluid for lighting.. but it's a very small cute, possible a collector's item 🤔 Hi Nikki, you cant post pictures on your first post. Dee, You have plenty going on in your life. I can sympathise with you. I had similar a few years ago, hence my absence for a while. I am now just itching to get back to work. I've been clearing out a lot of stuff, I think at some time in the future we will be downsizing our home. Still buying stuff too!

Hi Andy and welcome to the group. It can be a little slow at times, but people do read new comments and posts.
Sounds like you have some serious equipment there. The Retina and Leica would fit nicely into my collection.
There are many groups on facebook that cater for film photographers, Nikon, Leica, Rollei users etc, I suppose the immediacy of response from members to posts is the greater attraction.
This group is mainly about collecting cameras rather than using them with film as we do. Read through and enjoy the old posts.
Post some pics of your particular cameras, if you tried earlier and weren't successful, its because its your first post. One or two members here are fans of your cameras and will be interested.

Oops. Just realized that the Minolta Auto Semi is 645. Sandeha does not make 645 bellows. Why not ask anyway.

I'm new here, so I'll enjoy viewing older threads. I do hope, however, to see recent activity, too. Yes, few young people are interested in old cameras. They are interested in film, but only by passing it through over-priced p&s cameras. I'm trying to do my small part, though. A few years ago, I gifted my son's high school girlfriend a fully serviced Super Ricohflex. Now I just need to find out his college girlfriend's birthday. Hi, at one time the forum was very active, I hope the other members will forgive me for saying, but its an older membership and one or two have sadly gone this last few years. After an absence of about 18 months I look in now everyday, many of us do but don't post anything. Keep coming back and enjoy the old posts. We have a message box if you want to contact (active)members. But try to keep everything on forum if you can. Phil

I adapted a viewfinder for it instead of using the poky little thing. I've decided its a keeper. Quite a rare camera too. Most often seen as the Braun Gloriette.
