I reported it as well, so by now they should know what is going on. Still a bit sad that the few posts we get are from spammers.

A 20mm isn't exactly the right lens for portraits, but I wanted a quick check on this old pentax M42 20mm. The nikon Z was happy to accept it through the apropriate adapter. The plan is to use it with a M42 to Kmount adapter on the Pentax LX (on film)

Things went rather well with the FE2 in combination with the PanF 50. There was a heavy overcast all day, some shots where just imposible. Two things bothered me we the FE2, 1: the wind lever poking in my eye when shoting portrait format and secondly the center weighted metering struggles with difficult lit subjects where matrix would have done a better job, I think the FA would serve my needs more. Next week I'm gonna take the F4 for a walk, probably loaded with Delta 100. Maybe that 1 stop more can give me the edge in this weather, getting that low shutterspeed still suitable for handholding the camera. We'll see.... Here's a few shots I took with the FE2

Shot with the canon Eos 1n with canon 17mm TS/E on expired B&W film, negative "scanned" with the D800. The expired film gives a bit of a vintage look paper negative effect.

Nice when you can match your cameras to your bike

Just put in a roll of film in the FE2 to do something different i thought i would use the sigma wide apperture 20-24-28's on it to see how they perform on B&W film.Maybe i would've been better of with the FA but i'll try that next time.

Not exactly "old" glass, but i took the (manual focus) samyang 35mm 1:1.4 mounted on the pentax K20D for a walk. This certainly isn't my daily set up but it came to prove you don't need the latest and greatest gear to get some decent results. Still manually focussing wide aperture lenses is some kind of a chalenge as focussing screens of dslr's aren't optimised for MF lenses. So the rule becomes you better take "one more" just to be shure.

This mamiya super 23 set is my first auction win of 2024. I had a press universal with 65mm lens some 40 years ago sold it to quickly back then. Now here's my chance to relive my youger days as a photographer with this set. The 150mm has a dent on the mount wich need to be fixed in order to be able to mount the lens, nothing major but still I don't want to make things worse by trying to "fix" it, if it don't fit don't force it

While obviously an aesthetic advance, I count that as changing a historical fact and hence not allowed. Just like a dubious shop on the rue Beaumarchais used to sell Alpas assembled fom parts and provided with exotic covers after Pignons had ceased trading . The official dealer Karl Heitz in New York also changed covers, but that was a factory approved dealer, so green Alpas can still count as original. Although I must admit I once blackened a Leica IIIc to make it less visible when I took some snaps inside a Russian designed Nuclear reactor being built in Finland. p. p. I understand what you are saying, but to my "defence" I have to say the cameras I reskinned are not of historical value, secondly they were in a very bad condition so any work on them couldn't make things worse. I thought about the pentax S1a with the biotar as an example that it might look as an "what if ?" example. So should you go for the original, I think so if we're talking about really rare or exotic cameras the Alpa's you've mentionned are indeed a rare breed best kept original as there are so little of them around and altering them would be a travesty of what the Swiss engineers who designed them had in mind. On the other hand, what happend with rollei I would say nothing of great value has been lost if they are trying to cash in on selling those left over 35s's in gold, silver, titanium over blue... or just about any trim you can think of to people who are foolish enough to pay a LOT of money for a crappy point and shoot in a fancy dress. I do feel a bit sorry for your leica IIIc, if you had done that to a zorki that would've been a lesser crime :-) Any way have a good 2024 and keep collecting!

As a good habit my wife and I spend the last days of the year abroad, this time trying to walk like Egyptians in Luxor. We wish all the camera collectors all the best for 2024 and happy collecting those photographic gems.
