funny thing about using flour... I also collect model rail and built my first layout using flour paste and paper to build hills and contours, trouble is I live in a country area and attracted (I think) every mouse for miles.. ended up they were eating my layout faster then I could build it..... If I use flour on my cameras does that mean they'll be chewing their way into my camera cabinets?

Hi... and welcome if nothing else by collecting cameras, think of yourself as preserving a little bit of photographic history for those who in future years will have never seen cameras that actually take pictures using film instead of digital images

Totally agree... I get enough bad results without using a bad camera... I have enough skill (lol) to ruin a shot without the light leaks

I find something better for shooting bats is a 12 gauge.. they arrive in their thousands to eat berries from the line of trees in front of my house and when frightened (constantly) regurgitate as they take off, that stuff eats the paint from cars as quick as look at them... apart from that they stink... not one of my favourite critters

impressive group of Miranda's... That happens to me to but after a few months I often relent and sell off whichever I consider the less desirable one of the pair... still end up losing postal costs of course but someone has to support our post office... lol

I dont know if it had any association with the Wards you refer to but when in my teens..late 1940s.. there was a Wards camera outlet in N.S.W. Australia, it disappeared in I believe in the late 60s (or at least thats when I tried to go there and found it missing) but had been quite a large store 'nostalgia' its wonderful

What a shame.. looks like a nice camera before the post got at it I wish you the best of luck and also hope you come out "whole" I think all parcel services need an overhaul, had a problem with Aussie Post during one of our floods, I opened the wet smelly parcel hoping I could save the contents and was then refused the insurance because I did not keep the smelly flood soaked packaging (I did though have pictures of it at stages of unwrap (not good enough)

Praktica's and Zenits were among the first SLRs I ever started collecting a move up from the box cameras as I got a little older and more financial... have around 80 of them, probably two thirds of them Praktica's

I miss the darkroom.. I spent endless hours in there and was just getting good at it... sure digital is fast and simple but technology and me dont mix well.. am trying to print up some of my old (film produced) photos at the moment, they've scanned well but when I print them the colours are way off.. having a lot of trouble trying to adjust printer... give me back an enlarger and set of colour filters

good luck to you with that sale.. might have to have a bit of a cleanout myself soon, am looking at moving and am not going to have space for everything when I do... looks as if you have some interesting cameras in that lot my junkers consist of half a dozen point and shoot type cameras which are virtually worthless

sounds like a good deal, my biggest problem so far as cost is having items posted to Australia, it can be restrictively expensive but if you want to collect things you cant worry about cost... right?
