Just came today ! Neat Rangefinder ! Already have a covering kit coming. Everything seems to work fine. If it's over 30 degrees tomorrow I'll load it with film and go to the cemetery and shoot a roll !

Well.....after tearing my C3 apart and getting it working good I wanted to make it look good. Sometime last week I ordered the recovering kit from Leather Kits for cameras. It came yesterday and even though I woke up at 2:00 am with a bout of food poisoning I HAD to put it on ! It's a little tricky if you've never done one.....like me. Luckily the site has 2 good pages of instructions ! It took me at least an hour but now I know what to expect. And you can see in the picture you get a few extra parts for the C3 as well as extras for different variations. All in all they're a good outfit to deal with ! Best $12.50 I spent so far !

The dial we use to focus. It says Rangefinder on it and shows distances from 3 to infinity. On my picture it's the top dial on the left. Looks like that dial is pressed into the brass "cam" or "concentric" which is seen from inside the front face plate from the inside.

The more I look at them the more I see of that problem. Ideally a removable focus dial would have made that brick almost trouble free ! It is what it is though !

When I pulled my Argus C3 apart today I ordered the replacement leather/vinyl pieces for it. From what I've heard it takes a long time to get it. cameraleather.com. I should have left the camera apart. Just got an e-mail saying my order was shipped.....which I just placed a few hours ago !

I'm from Western NY. I used to build websites and had to come up with a name really quick. I have e-mail and usernames with that. Too lazy to change it !

Been wanting an Argus for a while now. Found one at Goodwill for $10.00. Never checked it out good though. Got home and realized I needed 2 hands to focus. Now I see it's a common problem. Found a video on You Tube and watched it a couple times. Argus C3 face removal. Wasn't too bad considering I've only worked on Kodak's and a few Pentax's. Everything went well until I got up to let the dog out and bumped the small kitchen table I was working on.......and with the faceplate off guess what went first ? Lol ! The shutter blades ! Never messed with them ! Now I have ! After putting them in backwards and having them spring CLOSED when I hit the shutter, I figured it out ! Got it all back together and it works great ! And when the covering gets here in a month or so it'll LOOK good too ! For now it works !

I know the 2 merged but they got out of the camera business. I like this little camera. It's a heavy solid camera like my K-1000. I think I've seen everything on line I can find about it. What I need is to find an image of the lens internally. Oh well......I'll keep it disassembled in a box for now and keep checking around for a parts camera !

I just went there. I'll spend some time looking through the Konica manuals there to see if the other ones are similar. It's amazing how no one has any info on that camera ! Such a nice solid camera ! Thanks for the help !

Hi all. Just joined here. I've always been a camera tinkerer. Mostly the easy old kodak stuff. Just put my Pentax K-1000 back together so I can go shoot a roll of B&W. This new project is something though ! Bought a Konica 1 cheap because of a sticking shutter. Pulled it all apart and found tons of gunk along with a broken/unhooked shutter spring. Has anyone ever found any info or pics of this camera torn apart ? I'll get it eventually but a diagram would help !
