Haha, that sounds soooo familiar! In the attic (I hope this is the right English word) we've got boxes and boxes full of Petrus Regout porcelain from Maastricht, The Netherlands. And I must also admit that I always have a keen eye (and purse...) for this porcelain while hunting cameras and lenses:-) Hans

From my son I got 10 rolls of Agfa ISO 100 slide film dated 2001 for nothing. Perfectly usable and development cost me €5 a roll. An old Nikon Coolscan IV does the scanning. Hans

A very difficult question... My wife insists on the one-in-one-out principle. I solved it - for the time being:-) - in the following way: my son is - next to his study - a professional photographer using digital Canon gear. But I've got him addicted to the film gear GAS also! Whatever I have in surplus, he's using it. I must admit he is a bit "classy"... he likes Hasselblad, Rolleiflex and my Contarex lenses, not the cameras:-(
So, lots of my excess gear (and also the gear not in excess...) have found a new (family) home.
But here comes the funny part, as I'm a very ill person - I run from chemo therapy to chemo theray, #14 is inside - my wife often comes home to give me a boost for my morale. Today it was a Praktica B200 electronic with Prakticar 2,4/50mm, fully working, in a splendid condition, for a mere €3!!

Welcome Chilla, to this forum,
We all know the drill, and where it ends.. well, it never ends:-)
If you have any Zeiss Ikon or Carl Zeiss (Jena) equipment I will be more than happy to receive production nubers...

Welcome Roger! My first SLR was a Zenit B also, fitted with the Helios 44. I still got it. Bought at the East-West-Agencies in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and loaded with ORWO (East German) film inside... Hans

It is prewar indeed. When you put the distance and aperture on the red dots you have the oldfashioned point&shoot settings: max depth to infinity. Only the light conditions to care about:-) The B of the 521/16 is only used in English speaking countries to denote the 6x6cm negative format. Hans

Collecting cameras includes collecting accessories... A vast collecting area! For 5cm & 13,5cm lenses Zeiss Ikon made several viewfinders, for example this 433/26 Albada viewfinder. IMG_2933Holo by Hans de Groot, on Flickr And in an oblique view: IMG_2935Holo by Hans de Groot, on Flickr Hans

Nice camera! If you finished the roll of film can you post the camera number (inside bottom) and the lens data? Hans
PS and it was a wise decision to let it repaired by an expert... The Cflex III, and later, are still more difficult to repair...

Another variant of the Ikonta 35, the 522/24 Fps. At this moment 11 variants are known, see holoceen.nl. If you encounter another one, please inform me... IMG_2927Holo by Hans de Groot, on Flickr Hans

Next camera is a Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 522/24 24x36mm Z66540 fitted with a Novar-Anastigmat 1:3,5 f=45 mm and a PRONTO shutter (25 50 100 200). bernd Otto in Photo Deal 2005 described 10 variations of this Ikonta, and of course, the first Ikonta of my collection is an 11th variant (different shutter - for details see holoceen.nl)... A truly collectible item: Zeiss Ikon Nettax 538/24 C86026 fitted with a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:3,5 f=5cm Nr. 1581154. Total production of this camera was only 3000 pieces max, so I own 0.33 % of the total world production! Originally named Super Nettel III it was renamed into Nettax when production started.
