Thanks so much but these cameras are not my collection, these are the cameras I like to use. I have others. We are going to have to define the word "Collection". Your love affair with them means you hang on to them like a lover. Definitely a cherished collection. Mickey

Photobucket has proven to be a nasty, vindictive organization.
Whenever I try to read the old messages and view the old pictures the words "Just deserts" and "Spoilers" come into my head.
I will be 87 in a few days and I asked my two I.T. grandsons to switch my pictures to a decently moral programme as my gift. I have also asked them about switching all the programmes as there is so much wisdom and humour and so many memorable people that I would like to take with me.

I check these posts every day but rarely comment. I still have my precious camera collection but have not made a purchase in several years. Nevertheless the posts are interesting and informative. I also find that many of the old postings make excellent reading. They sure beat wars and politics and crimes.
Photobucket has spoiled this post for me and I am looking for something to replace it that has a conscience. I am thinking of Cloud but know little about it yet.
Is there a geriatric division of CC? I don't get about much any more.

If I could convert my old Canon T90 to digital I would gladly pay $1,000 for it. A great deal of the digital appeal is the never even imagined forward leaps in the darkroom. Now I can sit at my desk and push a few buttons and save hours of work, for example. And the multitude of editing tools is miraculous. And no costs. The unbelievable reduction in cost per picture is a very welcome improvement as well.

Hi, Conan,
I have a collection of over 250 cameras from 8mm to 8"x10"
All of them use film in one form or another from glass to celluloide and plastics.
But not those digital monsters. Thay can not take pictures and are, therefore not cameras. I can not even find the door by which film might enter the camera.
Whoops! Excuse me. My tongue is stuck in my cheek. See ya later when I get it freed.

" Will digital cameras ever become collectable ?"
Not a chance! Never!
I purchased a digital camera a few weeks ago.. I have since been to 4 camera shops. Not even one of them had film for my new camera. Collectibles indeed! It will soon be forgotten.

Photobucket caused the big problem with image hosting but I think that they have relented now and the images have reappeared albeit with a watermark. That "watermark" is just what turns a picture into a masterpiece - !!!!!!!??. I think that Photobucket owes all of us a sincere apology for their crass behavior.

My family is from "the South" (Louisiana). Does that count? :-) Indeed. A southern representative is essential.

Michael, Schools Photography Classes. Arts and craft schools. Camera clubs. Senior Citizens Homes. Museums. Antique dealers. Camera stores - if such a creature is not extinct. Camera repair shops or persons. Window dressers. Interior decorators. As a last resort - Toy shops. Securely mount one in the rear window of your car to scare off tailgaters. Mickey (No. Not me.)

chilla,
I live in Toronto, Canada, SOUTHERN Ontario. It's not too far from Australia.
Come and visit us. You can stay at my house. You will feel quite lightheaded when you don't have to walk upside down. No kangaroos here but we do have some attractive green and gold little frogs that can hop a considerable distance. Our opossums are marsupials. They are not dangerous. In self defense they play dead. I am sure you will find many similarities to keep you from feeling homesick.
Welcome,
Mickey
