Within the last couple of days I've scored a couple of long searched for cameras, one is an early Agfaflex for 5 usd, the other a Yashica FX-1 in nice working condition for 3 usd!! Prices are leading me to start collecting again.

Mickey, I might know where you can get a good deal on an old donkey cart. Here in the twilight zone anything is possible!

After a long avoidance of the subject, I DID manage to score a couple of cameras, lenses and all. I started to search for some Lenses, filters, etc. to go with them. It came to my attention that it is almost impossible to buy anything for any system besides old clapped out camera bodies! Fun's fun, and I enjoy my digitals as much as the next guy, but to be unable to buy a FILM camera and lens is ridiculous

Thanks Mickey! I've also noticed that adhesive backed neoprene comes in pretty thin sheets. How thin? I'll find out. It looks like it's not much more than a mm.

Me again. Does anyone out there know of a good material to replace that 80's and 90's type rubberized grippy stuff? Most of the cameras I've seen that are covered in it look awful. They are dried out, with pieces broken off, just plain YUK ! If leather can be used, that would be nice, but not original.

After maybe 30 years, I finally found an affordable 7000i! It cost me a whopping $1.99 I had the lens, but no body, now I'm probably going to have to find some film for it as I haven't had any film in the house for several years!! Photo when it arrives.

Hi all! Today I was visiting a neighborhood yard sale and found a nice little kit that I just COULD NOT refuse! Here's what I got. Pentax Program Plus body SMC Pentax A 1:2 50mm lens Kiron 28-210 macro zoom Film (2 rolls of Fuji 200) some odds and ends. All in pristine condition for a whopping 8 US dollars. Looks like a sign that I need to get back into film.

A bit late (again), but here I am. The camera that I've fallen in love with, and use daily, is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5. The lens is a Leica DC Vario- Elmarit. Super sharp and great fun to use.

Very nice job! I'm especially fond of the roses. I read recently of someone who adapted a door peephole lens for use. That would make for a fun project!

I've been taking care of my wife after she had a hip and two knee replacements, and have had very little time to do much else. My work decided that I wasn't paying them enough attention and let me go Lately I've been writing a lot, complaining about forced retirement, collecting various writing instruments (my other passion), and being horribly grumpy and disgusted with myself. I need to get out of the house!!!! So. I'm dusting off those poor neglected cameras and heading out.

I just picked up a nice little Canon P&S, a Canon MC, and don't know anything about it. It's a clamshell type, and appears to be nicely made. Any information about them would be appreciated. Doug

I have a nice little tablet that I use all the time, but when it comes to needing some "me" time, I prefer a good, printed book, and a nice cup of tea. No tv, radio, phones, tablets, or any other background distractions allowed.
Right now I'm reading "The Lost City of Z" by David Grann. It's about the search for traces of Col. Fawcett and his obsession with finding a lost civilization in the Amazon. Good stuff!

I'd like something that would make the snow in my driveway disappear. Maybe if I let my nephew next door borrow my tablet, he'll do it for me! That would be a good use of modern technology!!
