Here in the UK old camera prices are approximately double what they were ten years ago.

I have just purchased (Saturday) a Miranda MS-1 which looks to be another Cosina CT-1 Super judging by the top plate. I am told it should arrive on Wednesday when I can have a better look at it. It has a Pentax K mount so I have plenty of lenses that should fit.

Life has got in the way over the last two years since I last posted here so I thought I would re-introduce myself. Now retired, I live in Lincoln and I have been collecting cameras for around ten years or so. I concentrate on interesting cameras rather than any marque or type.

Tessar lens is from 1935. If the second number is from a Compur shutter, it is from 1931. It is quite normal for lens and shutter to have differing dates but four years is rather a lot. Could indicate a repair.
The 530/2 was made from 1933 to 1939 so, if that second serial number is the shutter, the shutter cannot be an original part. (Edit: it is the shutter and it is a Compur)

On my Canon 50mm f/1.8, the serial number is printed in grey on the black plastic inside the mount. It is not all that visible unless you are looking for grey on black.

I wondered if this was a good picture of the Camera Collectors Forum Members................
Not at all possible. The dummy on the left who is about to squeeze the bulb has neglected to put a lens on his camera. None of the CC members would ever be guilty of such a goof............................Would they?? Never yet forgotten to attach a lens. Have shot an entire roll of film on Fed 2 with the lens cap on.

I have bought a Cosina CT1 a fortnight ago. Turns out it was also a Nikon FM10, Canon T60 and a Voigtlander Bessa L. Light meter is shot but the rest is working well. Apart from the plastic top and bottom plates it seems to be made from aluminium. Well impressed, actually.
Also have a Cosina C1 which is much newer, almost new in fact. Not sure what the C1 had for alter egos but suspect it had some.

Don't know if it's cheating a little but how about Zenza Bronica for 'Z' I bought myself one of these for my early Xmas present. It is expensive to use so I am waiting for appropriate inspiration.

Asahi Pentax SVThis is my fourth Pentax - the other three are Spotmatics of various flavours. Actually, I also have Pentax MX, ME Super and ME-F but they don't quite count as Pentaxes.

Surely the camera is a Kodak Easyshare - or am I missing something here?

I have a M42 to EOS adapter like that - I think the metal is just slightly too thick. An engineering fault rather than a design fault. I have a M42 to K mount adapter that is the same.

And do not count the lost auctions where your bid was way too low. I browse Ebay most days for auctions that are being ignored. Sometimes these are because of poor descriptions (my Ikoflex was listed under "folders" and described as a box camera. Mine was the only bid), sometimes no description ("Camera. See photograph" accompanied by one out of focus picture) and sometimes because, actually, no one is currently interested. I place ridiculously low bids and am almost (only almost) always outbid. Occasionally I get a nice camera for 99p.

oh, I have bought 4 nice lenses for my Salyut C, and two GoPros but that doesn't count does it?? It doesn't count if you arrange delivery on a Wednesday when Bestbeloved is at her art class.

It is Fuji film, the same as Agfa Vista +. They have lost the '+' and the specific print job on the cassette which means Fuji can supply all their private labels with the same production run, thus cutting costs. See dexter.pcode.nl/?dx=306253 to identify the maker of particular films using the small code on the cassette

I found out earlier today that Poundland are discontinuing Agfa Vista film. Their web site lists it as out of stock and once shop stocks are gone there will be no more.
I have about 40 rolls in my store so I shall be OK for a year or so but what then? I cannot afford £4 a roll elsewhere.
