I can sympathize, been through the medical gamut for 21 months now with both knees needing replacement, bariatric clinics and now every test under the sun for stomach/colon woes. Good part is getting up in the morning... at least till my feet hit the floor and I try to stand up, LOL. Beats the alternative as previously stated, Every day above ground is a good one. It sucks when a gopher needs to deliver your mail.

Got far too many Ricohs as they were and are a favourite of mine. I have the TLS 401 as well as the Ricoh/Sears/Mamiya and Nikon version of the Singlex originally made by Mamiya.

Checked my SLRs for a post on Facebook. Sorry I spend too little time here lately and too much there. Anyhoo, 52 Canons in SLR so they have a lead on my 38 Nikons.

Just wanted to welcome a fellow camera collector. Sounds like we're similar, I'm in a smaller remote location, have quite a few cameras (2200 before I started downsizing about 6 months ago) and am not a Bill Gates by anyone's estimate. Glad to have you here. Let's see some pics when you get a chance.

Hello and welcome. Don't post here as often as I should but always glad to see a new member. Exaktas are one of my passions, the VX1000 is a nice one. Got any photos?

Great article, thanks for sharing this. I'm currently deciding which of my cameras to keep, which to sell on Etsy or eBay and whether or not to add a digital SLR to my arsenal. Food for thought.

Not sure on the mount for the Alcomatic, but probably a T mount or T2 as suggested. I have oodles of Tamron, Tamron SPII, T, T2, T4, TX as well as several other mounts. Bought a box once that has over 40 mounts that I couldn't figure out for a couple years. Turns out they're Toshiba mount used mainly in Europe but I've bought a few Tosner lenses that use this mount. An oddball bayonet but I have mounts for almost every brand of camera all in the one box. Used to think it was a score but now with prices tanking I think they're just one more thing in the basement pile, I mean collection, LOL.

I've got a few myself. The wife hasn't stopped complaining since I told her how many. Before that I was safe. Ignorance is bliss.

The only pearl of wisdom I can offer is PLEASE till you get a CLA, DON'T use the self timer. I can't begin to tell you how many "I tried the timer and now the camera shutter is jammed" stories I've read in twenty plus years now. Almost nobody used them regularly so the lubricant is like the Labrea tar pits.

Hi Cole, Nice to see you here, new members are always welcome. While my cameras tend to be mainly Pentax related I do like manual Minoltas too. Holding a Minolta clone as we speak, a Pearl River S-201. Uses MD mount lenses. Anyhow, I'm sure you'll like it here and glad you found us.

Guilty myself. Knee has had me sitting w/icepacks most of the summer, rest at doctors of one sort or another. Dialysis is not fun or easy. My brother went through it for years, knocks you down for sure. Good to see some old and many new faces.

Was buying old dirt bikes and mini bikes to restore when I retire but another in a series of knee failures (LOL) put the kibosh on that so now I'm just fixing up three mopeds and my Honda Passport. Selling the rest bit by bit, sigh.
