Mamiya NC1000 f/5.6 @ 1/500 Fuji Superia 200Took this shortly after daybreak the other morning with my NC1000. There was a lot of frost on the ground, and I had hoped for some interesting shots. Unfortunately, this was the only one I got off without a problem. My camera had been in the car trunk all night, and must have developed an aversion to the cold in it's old age. Every other shot I attempted had the shutter hang up on me! Thank goodness it was only a 12-shot test roll. I almost didn't get it developed at all, but at the last minute I thought perhaps some of the wild exposures from that shutter staying open might be interesting. They weren't. But this one will at least remind me of some of the things I was trying to do! ----- BTW - once the camera warmed up, it was fine again.

This shot came up on my browser and I said "Wow!" It's a stunner. What a bummer that the shutter came up lame. That's happened to me a couple of times with older cameras and it always smarts!

Thanks, guys.
That one shot made it worth developing the rest of the ruined roll! Kamera...I was actually closer to your neck of the Michigan woods when I shot this. I was in Grand Haven last weekend for my father-in-laws 90th birthday party (the DVD I made for him came out fabulous, by the way ;D).
This was early morning on his farm...and I was prowling around looking for subject matter, when I saw the frosted weeds. The only other problem I had was getting up from the squat!

After the NC1000 went lame, I got my other camera from the house and made a few more shots that day with my digital. This is the only other one made that early. It was the first shot I took after I gave up in disgust at the faulty shutter of the NC, and went inside to change cameras! I was on the other side of the field (there's actually a stand of trees to the left, then an entry road, then another area of woods before you get to the spot where I made the first shot). The sun was a little bit higher and shielded by the evergreens on the left, and the clouds had started to thicken a bit. This is close to the view we would see in the morning, if we built on the property, which we would like to do when I retire. Canon 300-D f/11 @ 1/160 ISO 400
