I love taking wildlife photos, Birds seem to make a good subject. I am no bird watcher though, I could not tell you half of there names. I just like taking there pictures. After a hard week at work I develop the patience it takes to wait for them to make the right move. Here are some examples. I am no were near a professional photographer It's just a hobby that keeps me out of trouble. I have been trying to turn it into a business. Recently I went to one of the local newspapers with a portfolio of different shot and right there they bought some pictures and offered me a freelance position they don't pay much $12. a picture. but it something, But its a small town newspaper and that there going rate. I have also been selling framed prints and that has really taken off. Well enough babbling here are some shots. Remember this is the critique section and I know you guys have been taking pictures a lot longer then I have so any critique is welcome. Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. danceing on water. Ok, I will critique. #1 Needs a polarizer, +1-2 stops exposure and cut the reflection of the sun #2Very good photo but slightly underexposed #3Needs a closer crop the strip of land does nothing but draw the eye away #4 To much dead space behind the bird. A flying b ird needs room to fly into #5 This one I like #6 Either a poor scan or something fogged the film #7 Sharp and excellent. The bird is flying into the frame #8 Good exposure and great moment but again too much space to the rear #9 If you would crop it so the eye is in the upper left 3rd it would be outstanding #10 Good exposure but once again no room to swim #11 A great moment in time.

Thanks, that's just what I needed. Since the kids have graduated college and are off on there own I have been able to afford some good cameras now all I need is to do is figure out how to make them work right. Im going to redo the pictures that I can as you sugested to see the difference. Thanks for the critique.

Majicman - I liked 3 and 4, and didn't dislike any of the others too much, except No. 5.)
Rick - yup! (We can't move for pigeons though, so I'll beg to disagree on number 5)
Regards - John
