Hi all,
I was going through some old slides today with a view to making prints for the family album, and thought you might like to see a few. The ones with my daughter Emma in them were taken about 1969-70, and the one with her and John looking at the penguins about 1974.
They were all taken by my wife Valerie which makes them more than just memento shots for me. She was probably using an Exakta Varex IIb with a Pancolor lens but I don't remember what the film was except for the woodland shots which were on home processed Ferrania. I remember we had problems with colour balance. The darn stuff was so sensitive to first development temperature. I thnk some of them are more than just family snapshots, but then I'm biased.
Can't think who the handsone young man is ;D.
This, and the next two shots, were taken in woodlands near Canterbury in east Kent.
Well, hello there! Taken I think at either Southampton or Bristol zoo.
My kitten. Emma still is potty about cats!
Taken at Camber Sands. The day started bright, but chilly, and soon after this was taken it came on to rain heavily and we had to make a dash for the car!
Danger! Artist at work! Wish I'd kept the picture, it would probably sell for thousands now as self expression in modern art!! . Taken in our kitchen with bounce flash, probably using a small AG1 flashbulb fired in an open reflector against a piece of white card. Those little flashbulbs gave a harder sort of light than the later small electronic flashguns.
