Sunday we went to the Antique Engine Show in Wayne Ohio. Here you'll see three pictures of the Engine Shed taken by my Minolta Freedom II point and shoot camera. Film is Vermont Color 200. Here is Ivan Simmons explaining the one cylinder engines to a visitor. He and his son David. have several of these huge engines running on propane in the shed. These engines used to run on natural gas and did all sorts of jobs from running a sawmill to grinding feed. The pipe going towards the roof vents the exhaust out of the building. With several of these running at one time, it sounds like thunder as the engines only fire when the governor senses the need for another ignition. The engine makes as many as 8 revolutions between ignitions.

A local Tired Iron group restores and shows these style engines only on a much smaller scale sat country fairs. Interesting technology and nice to see people still keep these alive. Good work Randy. I bought my Minolta Freedom ll in Vegas when my Olympus Infinity packed it in. Nice little cameras, capable, pocketable and light.

Yes Curt, I take mine along when I don't have the time to take along camera gear. I'm suprised the pictures it takes, I paid two dollars for it with a Focal auxiliary lens set.
