I came across a framed photo of the HMCS Port Arthur at a local antique store and had to buy it having been in the Naval Reserve in Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay is an amalgamation of the Cities of Fort William and Port Arthur. The photo was taken by a then well known local photographer Fred G Lovelady who also had a camera shop locally. It was built by the Port Arthur Shipbuilding Co.. It may have been taken on commissioning day, 26 May 1942, and interestingly no pennant/hull number has been applied. I just thought that the photo had so many unique connections to our city. It was scanned in the frame in two sections on a flatbed scanner and the photo merged in PS so excuse the quality. bob
