... in any time period. This one happens to be from 1944. Yet another of my father's pictures taken with either a Rolleicord (Triotar lens) or a Rolleiflex (Tessar lens), both pre-war and uncoated optics. Taken against heavy backlighting with a large aperture, I think it came out rather well. The dark thread bordering on the blouse is obviously hand stitching and the blouse itself was likely handmade as many people sewed in those days. Maybe it was an old blouse that she simply wanted to spiff up a little. Walker

I love brokeh of the Triotar. Is this off a negative you have scanned, or a print? Excellent either way.

Wayne, it was scanned from a negative. The only information on the envelope is the year and the woman's name. I know for a fact that Pop had two Rolleis then: a 'Cord and a 'Flex. Which he used for this shot I really don't know. I wish he'd kept better records but my early record keeping was little better. Walker

Walker, this still looks great! And taken one year before I was born. MF really stands up well. What an engaging smile she has.

Gene:
Looks like we share a birth year. I arrived just before FDR checked out.
