I have a few Russian cameras too. mine are a Zorki-4 with J-8 and J-12, a Moskva, a Lubitel and 4 Zenits, a Zenit-B, a Zenit-TTL, a FS-12 and a FS-122 (both Fotosnaiper kits).
The Zorki and Moskva both work wonderfully and the Lubitel has the first film still running through it and the FS-122 is still being tested. The Zenit-B did work but the shutter gave up on me at the end of the first roll I put through it and the Zenit-TTL and FS-12 need their meters repaired.

Hi,
Sorry to hear about the disappointment with your Zenit B. It's a good workhorse type of camera, and there are loads out there still giving good service. You can can pick them up so cheaply nowadays that it's not worth sending one in for repair. I don't know if you feel like having a go at it yourself, but if you do, ask Google for 'Zenit repair' and you'll find a lot of useful sites by helpful people. Except for the pentaprism it's very similar inside to an early Zorki or FED, and not too difficult to work on. In fact, the early Zenits were made by grafting a pentaprism on to a Zorki.

Hi, folks. I've been collecting cameras--with a Russian focus--for about three years. I have examples of most Zorkis and FEDs, plus a couple of Kievs and Zenit and Kiev SLRs. Haven't got any new ones for a while. I'm trying to get the ones I already have in operating condition.
Just received two cameras back from an Oleg overhaul -- a early postwar FED 1 and a "Red" Zorki 5. He did a wonderful job. My favorite "shooter" right now is a very late FED 1.

Wayne: Do you have contact information for Oleg? Although it is not the main focus of my collecting, I have quite a few Russian cameras...FED's, Zorki's, Start, Mir, etc. and really need to get a couple of the Zorki's looked at and given a good CLA. If I wait until I can get around to it myself, I may never get a chance to shoot with some of them!

Oleg's web site is: www.okvintagecamera.com/He's done a number of cameras for me and absolutely no complaints. He's sort of the industry standard for FSU camera repair. After replacing a couple of Zorki 1 curtains I decided it wasn't fun anymore--just time consuming--so I ship most stuff to Oleg. Oleg actually has done work on real Leicas for people but I personally would be a little leery of sending a Leica throught the Russian postal system.
