I'm really starting to get into non-leica Barnack clones... Initially I was trying to get myself a FED or Zorki 1, but it turned out I was able to pick up this Tower type 3 from RFF at a great price... Now I have a Nicca 3-S on its way & I can't wait! Cheers! Peter

Beautiful Tower Peter. Hope your Nicca looks and works as well. Please post a picture once you get it in the mail.

Thanks Curt! Will definitely post some pictures when it arrives! I'm especially excited about the Nikkor 50/2 that is attached to it, as Brian Sweeny gave it a good review... I'd like to think I'm done with the Barnack type cameras now, but I know there is probably a leica with my name on it out there somewhere... Peter

I always have lusted after a Nicca or Tower but never seemed to have the financing when a nice one showed up. Beautuful cameras and in many cases, nearly on par with the Leicas of the same era. Tolerances are much tigher than on the FSU Leica copies.

That's exactly what I noticed when I first held this camera... I had played with a NKVD Fed 1 at a local camera show (that I should have bought!), but my Tower is far and away better in terms of build quality & feel. That's why I bought another one! Peter

We FSU shooters say 'we don't need no stinkin' tolerances...' LOL
Seriously, that's one fine looking camera, Peter. Looks as nice as my IIIf.
