There seems to be quite a variety of different take-up spools in peoples Kiev cameras when they get them. My 79 4a came with this plastic spool that has a narrow slot in the middle. It gives no trouble after the tinkering I did to clean and adjust the friction brake. Frame spacing is even and you get 24 on a 24 roll. What were the one's like when you got your Kiev and did they give you any problems. Bob

Here are the spools from my Kievs. The one on the left is metal and from an early '70s camera. The one on the right is plastic, from a late '70s camera

This is mine. I can't guarantee it's the original but I believe it be. I'm also willing to be proven wrong! It's plastic, by the way.

The original spool for the Kiev is the 2 slotted version
