Sometimes it takes a new bit of gear to get me revved up and out taking pics. Gene Quite right, Gene. However, I find that picking up a camera I haven't used in a long time often does the trick. It's cheaper than buying another camera! FWIW, before I look at your new Bessa I put on a necklace of garlic, hold a cross in front of the screen and have silver bullets in my pistol..... just in case! Otherwise, the temptation is simply too great and I don't need to be bitten again! Walker

I may be doomed Naw, just can't afford an upgrade. Not after my Bessa bash. (But I'm not complaining) Gene

On the third straight roll of film my little Bessa R3A jammed again. On frames 12, 26, and 22 respectively, so I suspect that when it reaches a certain threshold of tension, it jams. Something wrong with the film advance. Fortunately Stephen Gandy at CameraQuest said he will exchange it. So Li'l Grey is off to sunny LA tomorrow and I'll be without an M-mount body for awhile.
Unusual in my experience. I've owned 4 different Bessa RF models and two Bessaflexes (same film advance mechanisms in all of them) and they've all been smooth as butter.
Guess I'll now have time to try out the newly-arrived Yashicamat 124G that's waiting for a test roll.

*sigh* I too am envious. I was going to buy an original R back on '01, but decided to try a 70s rangefinder 1st, just to see if I liked the genre before diving in. I now have a bunch of old rangefinders and still no CV. Your R3A and 40/1.4 look like the ultimate combo. One day...
