I love the old trains. The chug, chug...whooo of the whistle...clang, clang of the bell...the engine crew hanging out the cab windows. And cosmetically they had a lot of detail, whereas today's engines are smooth and aerodynamic.
You could spend a lot of time walking around and inspecting the old engines, but one quick walk around the engines of today is enough. Nothing really to look at or excite one to take pictures.

My friend Doyle McCormack is in charge of the Southern Pacific #4449 Daylight. The engine was used in the movie Tough Guys, in fact, he was in the movie. He has rebuilt several steam locomotives in the last thirty-some years. He says the steam locomotive is the closest man has come to in creating life. A steam locomotive breathes, fastinates, and can be very destructive. I've always been in awe of them!
