Hi All, Since my wife's surgery, I have periodically surfed the threads but not posted. As a quick update, she will need another surgery in December to seal what appears to be a stubborn fistula. We went out for a ride yesterday to see what may very well be some of the last colors of this Fall around Kalamazoo, MI. At her 'suggestion'(or was it insistance) I used "that expensive old camera that better work"(according to her). That being my recently purchased Leica Leicaflex, 50/2 Summicron and Agfa 200 print film. I decided not to get the meter on it repaired as a couple repair shops told me it would probably be between $200-$500 to do so(recall it has the 'missing' meter needle). So for exposure I used my trusty ol' handheld Gosson Scout meter. Using the Leica is like being in heaven...just so comfortable, smooth working, solid, etc. I can understand now why they demand such a high purchase price. I told my wife the only way I could describe it to her was comparing it to driving a Hugo vs. a Rolls!! Here are a few of the pics I took. A couple at a place where people drove around in little carts, then got out and hit a small white ball with a stick...I believe they called the game "Cow Pasture Pool". And a couple at a nearby park. It was an overcast day with temperature in the high 60's; rather unusual for this time of year. Hope you enjoy. Take care, All!!! Ron Head Kalamazoo, MI

Hi Ron,
Great to see some of your stuff again. Give your wife my best wishes - I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.
Particularly like the fourth shot. The Agfa film's slightly subdued colours really bring out the contrast on this one.
I've always thought that golf is a disease - and there's no cure for it. Avoid!
Regards - John

Hi Ron, and welcome back. So glad to hear that your wife's surgery was successful and that she's able to get out again. Lovely set of Fall pictures, the colours are gorgeous. Over here we didn't get much leaf colour, it came very late, and then we got high winds as well which blew them all off the trees. BTW be careful of venturing on to those cow pasture pool places, I'm told it's very easy to lose your ... I'd better stop there . Peter

Hello, "the original Ron H"! It is good to see you posting again...and good to know you and your wife are able to get out a bit again. I had to laugh at your wife's comment about that "expensive old camera that better work" -- Oh my, how many times I've heard that here (usually substituting "another" for "expensive") LOL I love that fourth shot with the evergreen, Ron. That is an absolutely gorgeous image. It's one of those that makes me think "wish it were mine!"

Hi Ron, Great to hear from you and see your work again. Good to hear your wife is doing a bit better so the two of you could enjoy a fall day or two. How'd you get the weather to co-operate? Here we've had one day of rain and wind, one day of grey skies and slight flurries and today it's colder than the taxman's heart.

Curt,
Well, it wasn't easy getting Mother Nature to cooperate for even a few minutes, but I did manage to. Trouble is I had to make a deal with her that she could throw one or two snow storms at us and I would not complain. Sort of like making a pact with the devil!
Actually it was an overcast day when I took these pics but plenty enough of even lighting.
There are times though I like to shoot around mid-day and challenge the extreme highlights.
