Nice pictures, Dave.
Looks very similar to the markets/car boot sales in the UK. Happy hunting grounds - sometimes.

Very nice set of market day shots, Dave! (Sorry to hear about the head, though) :-) Vibrant colours -- they really jump out in the candles shot.

Lovely pictures, Dave.
I have never seen a technicolour statue before. I really like it. I think I'll start a Colour Our Statues Movement here. Bronze is so dull and ----- bronzey. From your photo it appears the pigeons, too, respect it.

Mickey:

Peter,
Toronto, being the staid old Victorian city that it is and having winter temperatures that could solidify a hot toddy in seconds, has always had properly, fully attired statues. Besides, the leaves would fall off in the autumn as they tend to do here. Oooo. What a scandal that would create!
I remain, as ever, faithfully, Mickey Esqu.

Peter, Gene, Roy & Mickey... Thanks so much for your kind comments, very much appreciated The statue of John Glover is unique as John Glover was himself. It apparently was constructed of all sorts of different metals and designed to corrode with different colours. The green is copper and the rest, I'm not sure about. Peter, our whole culture in this part of the country is very English indeed, our architecture, pubs and habits all reflect "Mother England" BTW... most of you folks have been freezing lately, my part of the world has been sweltering in the worst drought ever recorded....... Send some bloody snow this way! Dave

Wish we had market days or boot sales. It's only in the summer you'll see yard sales here and even then they're mostly clothing, exercise equipment, baby items etc.

Very pleasing and striking pictures Dave. Looks very similar to the markets/car boot sales in the UK. Happy hunting grounds - sometimes. That what struck me PeterW, many people look quite similiar the world over. Here's a couple of photo's taken at Sedgefield (horse racing track) a couple of decades ago but unfortunately the available items mostly look like rubbish.
