Thank you Dave! I like the third one too. I find using negative space effectively to create drama is quite difficult but very rewarding.

Wonderful landscapes, Tommy, just the right sort of scenery on the way to work to set you up in a good mood for the day.
When I used to drive the sixty-odd miles to work in central London my scenery was impatient frustrated drivers on motorways, then fifteen miles of London suburbs trying to find new 'back doubles' to avoid the queues on the main roads. I'd arrive frazzled, and would have given a lot to drive to work through scenery like that.
Today my son John has to drive to work only to the outskirts of London, but says that after the traffic congestion he still needs a couple of coffees after he arrives before he feels human again and sets out to fix problems in computers and networks for companies in the centre of London.

Nice drive to work there Tommy. Should be relaxing coming home admiring those views. Unfortunately, my job is less than a mile away, 8 minutes right to my locker, by car or the same by bicycle. Other than the Bombardier train plant there's not much of a view although we do see the occasional deer or fox. I'm so used to NOT bringing a camera when I drive to the border for my eBay goodies that last week I pulled over and admired a young bull moose crossing the road. It only dawned on me as I was driving away that I'd brought my Kodak digital and it was on the dash the whole time, DUH..

Tommy, I so look forward to your posts. The 1st one I especially like, great composition with the wide angle and the train reminds you that you are not on some wilderness river! Would love to see the same, shot with with one of your Minoltas Dave

Peter W, Just Curt, and Davesworld, thank you all! Dave, I plan on taking some shots tomorrow with my Minolta, it's supposed to be a nice day again. Hopefully the Hudson River will be as still as it was when I took these shots above. I appreciate your comments, it's very kind of you! Peter and Curt, you both had two polar opposite commutes! Peter had the grinding 60 mile slog while Curt can ride a bike and be there in 8 minutes. It makes me feel somewhat blessed to have a commute like I do....I wish I started taking pictures 10 years ago when I first started this job! I live in NYC and drive the opposite way than the rush, north towards Westchester County. It's a 25 minute ride, not much traffic, (as opposed to the monstrous traffic going south towards NYC!), and so along the way, I can stop off in a few various towns and get some of that morning light which from the East hits the Palisades beautifully in the morning. On the way home, when the sun begins descending behind the Palisades, it can set off some spectacular sunsets. With the sun setting later and later now, I'm usually long home by the time the sun goes down. Here's one from the just a few days ago in Yonkers, NY looking north towards Westchester County, with a Kodak Z710 ( I have to start shooting film again soon!)
