I recently bought what I would regard as the smallest M-42 lens I have ever seen.
It is the Russian Industar 50-2, 50mm 3.5. This thing is tiny. When I mounted it on my MTL5, it almost looked lik it was a fixed lens.
These are the dimentions: Diameter- 50mm at mounting flange 44mm at barrel 46mm at focusing ring Depth- 28mm focused at it's closest (0.65m) 25mm focused at infinity
It is a manual diaphragm only. No auto or preset here. It reminds me of the lenses on the Soviet rangefinders. I have tried it on my ST605N, but still have to finish the roll off, so results will ahave to wait.
I bought it from a friend who owns a camera shop for $20 AUD, including the bubble case and lens cap. It is in as near to mint condition as you can get. It was made in 1971, if the serial number trick of the KMZ cameras and lenses is relevent to this lens, which I think it is.
Do any of you know of any small lenses that are big on performance? I hope mine is.

Heath, they really are tiny. When I got mine I thought that they had sent me the LTM version.

Rachel, what are the results like with your I-50? I would love to see some of the photos taken with it if possible.

Heath,
I have used it but I'm not sure I can easily locate the pictures. It was awhile ago. I'll try it on my 350D and see how it performs.

Yep, that the lens Rachel. It seems to have gotten lost on the FX3 there Rachel. Almost looks wrong. But of course, all is OK.
