Don't hate me, but I just bought a used Leica Minilux P+S camera. I've read that the 40mm f2.4 Summarit lens is very good. I'm hoping it is.
First impressions: camera feels solid, it's a bit clunky size-wise, 0.35 mag viewfinder is pretty small, camera is loud turning it on/off (lens extending and retracting), auto focus is noisy too.
Hope the lens makes up for it!

So why would anyone hate you for getting a Minilux? I think you're lucky to get one. Let us know how the lens checks out.

I'll do that Gene. I'm going to have to learn how to post images here, and if it involves more than 3 steps, I'm in trouble. BTW, your avatar makes me smile! (Going to have to learn about how to get one of those too.)

The film "One Stop Photo" with Robin Williams featured a Leica Minilux. It was on TV here last evening.

Well, if it's good enough for the Pope, I should be satified with it!
The character played by Robin Williams in One hour photo was very creepy! Gives photographers a bad rep.

Looks like a nice p&s Frank... I got a stylus epic recently, but it was stolen before I finished the first roll, so I'm on the lookout for another small carry around. Do post some results with your minilux... I think you have to have pics hosted somewhere & paste the url link between the [/img] commands that come up when you click the 'image' button. Cheers! Peter
