Dave: I've had the itch for that 1.7x and the 70mm for a long time. Have you used the 1.7x? The two things I miss about mine is the lack of a real telephoto capability, and the total lack of exposure control. I will eventually get a Super, to at least have some exposure compensation. I have learned to work within the capabilities of the camera, and it is a lot of fun. Roy

Roy -- To tell the truth, I don't recall. I tried a number of times to get some decent shots, and kept buying things like the extender and the Super from the auction site when I could "steal" them. Then, probably about two years ago, I put the whole kit away. I saw your photos and they encouraged me to at least pull the stuff out and look at it.
Sometime ago, I think in about 2002, I signed up for the New York Institute of Photography Professional Photography course, knowing that I would be retiring shortly and thinking that I would like some more formal training. (Incidentally, I did complete the course and enjoyed it and learned a lot.) At that time I was using the Minolta Mark II, which I thought and think is a great camera -- but awfully big for 110 film. I sent some of my assignments in from that camera and was roundly criticized that while 110 might be fun, it was not for serious use. I think I agree, but I'm not against fun. Anyway, I went back to 35mm, but could not resist the Pentax.
So that's my story. I think I'll give the Pentax another shot. I have lots of 110 in the refrigerator. When I do, I'll be sure to use the extender and the 70mm and will let you know how it went.
