Scot, I've heard rumours that the nazis were smart now and then, but when did they fly over Michigan, and how would those structures fool a spy on the ground? But the brickwork certainly looks fairly recent. For training, or target practice?

This was part of an artist's temporary display of sculptures for last year's Earth Day. They were on display in Union Station, Toronto. My personal name for this piece is Dalek Tree Gene

Wayne,
I have seen it mentioned elsewhere about your photos not being visible to some viewers. I can see most of your posts, but there are some not visible. Oct 3rd 2008 above has neither post visible, while on that of the 8th has a visible Versailles but an 'invisible' Lincoln in London. Flickr and others have a "this photo is currently unavailable" message: yours just has image and a red X. I presume they have been moved (or whatever) so that the URL no longer finds them. From my point of view a shame - I'm sure I'm missing some good photographs.

From Peter S's sublime to the grotesque. Toronto's Yorkville district. I think he is swearing at a pigeon. Mickey

Canada's West Coast First Nations' Totem Pole This is a modern day sculpture. The second figure from the top appears to be listening to his iPod. I think the figures fom top to bottom are Owl, Human, Eagle, Frog. Mickey

I don't know who she is or what she represents - perhaps a figure from Greek or Roman mythology. But she is always there with her amphorae keeping a watchful eye on the many students who like her silent company while studying. Mickey

I also found a sculpture on the roadside half a year ago, which I dont know what it should represent. It looks somehow like a petrified manatee MIK
