Gene: How you can spend a few moments in "wandering around the yard and kitchen" and still come up with such fascinating images is a real testament to your powers of observation. After more than 40 years at it, I know how to take a good picture (even though I don't always succeed), and every once in a very great while I can almost see them first...but I sure wish I could be as consistently good about it as you are. I'd give almost anything for that gift. I mean, a sprinkler head, for cryin' out loud! But with enough "presence" to make me come back to it over and over......... Again, nicely done.

Dam (sic) it! Why does my sprinkler look so ugly? Why is my grass only a nuisance to be mowed? Why is my tree only a source of leaves to be raked? Why are earwigs the only everlasting things in my garden? Garlic? I'll leave that alone. There is none within the metes and bounds of my property. It makes me ill.
Gorgeous pictures. Sorry, I've run out of superlatives. Oh that tree!

Glad to see that you are well enough to practice your craft. Ron said it all for me. I'm always amazed at your ability to make the mundane an interesting photographic experience.

Gene:
As always, outstanding. You have an "eye" I envy. Some photographers have it. Most don't. You do.

Bob, Ron, Mickey, Bob, thanks for your support and kind words. I look forward to taking walks around the harbour again -- sometimes I drive there and walk around a little. Fortunately I seem to be healing normally so it's only a matter of time and rehab.
A friend picked me up yesterday and we drove to one of my favourite local parks where I managed to shoot 3 rolls of C-41 col. To keep my load really light, I took along a Nikon FM10 (Cosina-made) and three Nikon 'E' primes -- 28/50/100. The E lenses are small, like Zuikos, but weigh less. Plasticy and not built like Nikkors, some people look down upon them, but they're really quite sharp, not to mention relatively inexpensive. The entire kit probably weighed less than my D200 with a hefty prime on it.

Gene, the longer I know you, the better your eye gets. I feel like I'm rubbing elbows with greatness when I see your photos. Very, Very, Nice!

Gene,
I can only echo everything everyone else has said about your eye as a photographer.
Here's me making excuses to myself that I don't take so many pictures these days because I can't get out and about so much with a tricky leg. Compared to your present disability I'm galloping about like a two-year-old! So keep the pictures coming, but don't overdo it, and get back to normal soon.
Me? I'm suffering from the age-old procrastination syndrome, always waiting for that round tuit which, of course, never appears.
And this is the same me that once wrote a piece for a photo mag about 'Don't put your camera away for the winter', complete with pictures of people hurrying along with collars turned up against the rain, the wheel of a car splashing through a puddle, a rough sea splashing up stone steps leading down to the beach ... ah, that was a long time ago.
So thanks, Gene, you've fired me up again.. I WILL stir myself and finish off the films that are in several of my cameras ... I WILL stir myself and finish off ... I WILL stir myself and ... I WILL ...
Well, maybe after I've had another cup of coffee.
Oh, come on Peter. No excuses. Switch the computer off, get off your butt and take a camera off the shelf. You can't do much mail order work for the next few days because there's a postal strike. And you can have another coffee afterwards, when you've earned it!

Great pictures Gene.
Particularly like the sprinkler nozzle, because it's sat on a tree stump !! Get rid of the sprinkler and home in on the stump!

Wayne, Randy, Peter, John, you folks are too kind. I hate to let a day go by without shooting something so if I can't get out much, I look around the property.
John, the stump is a good subject. I shoot it every so often.
