Does any one know if the minolta MC and MD lens both function in the same way on a SR T 201. I have a chance to acquire some of the MD lens at a real good price but it would be a waste if they did not function on the SR T 201. The camera manual only specifies the MC lens.

Yes, both the MC and MD lenses will work on the SRT 201. Both lenses have the Minolta Mount and the F-Stop Tab is in the same place. An advantage is that some MDs will stop down to F-22.

Yes, the SRT-series is a "standard" series & will take all MC & MD lenses & work perfectly.

Thanks Randy and Craig. My $30 for three lens will be well spent.

Jack,
Randy and Craig gave you the point answer to your question...both lenses will work on all the SRT models.
Just a note though in case you would ever get a camera specifying the MD lens(eg. X700), the MC's will not work in all program modes of those newer cameras.
IMHO, you cannot go wrong with the Minolta SRT line.

That is that the MC lenses will not work with the program modes on the x-700 and XD-11 but will work in the other modes on those cameras.

Jack,
That is correct. MC lenses work on the X series cameras, but not in full AE Program Modes!
