I am really glad to see such interest in Nikon Gear. I have gotten rid of most other SLR brands and concentrate on Nikon Gear now at least for 35mm stuff. I have examples of the prime F's up to the F5 with several each of the F, F2 and F3's. A main user is the F100 (IMHO one of Nikon's best). I had an F801 but sold it on this site to another member and have had the F60, F2000 and 2 EM's - also sold. I kept one nice EM with winder and flash. I have 3 F90's but two of them are in Japan with my daughter - along with her FM2N. More recently I added a D70S for snap shots and web stuff. I don't care for it much but it serves a purpose. The D200 sounds more interesting - maybe later. Of course I have some lenses, flashes and such to go along with this stuff.
My NAS is well under control as I haven't bought a camera in the last 6 months. Favorite Nikon? Probably the F100 but ask me another day and you would get a different answer.

Nikon Acquisition Syndrome (NAS) happily under control - for the moment. Oh yeah, my wife uses an F80 which she really likes for it's small size and quiet shutter.

Phil.
Had the F100 for awhile and liked it, especially the sophisticated TTL flash but couldn't get excited about the menus. Wish I had held onto it, however. I'm gonna have to start seriously seeking an F2.
BTW: "Sunny Victoria?" Was there in late May in the evening (cruise ship stopover). Rained like a Son-of-a-gun the four hours were were there:) Victoria is nice. That was the first time I had been there since 1978.

Wayne Yes, we did have a rainy May but since June I don't think we have had more than a day or two of rain. Nothing this month at all. Just temperatures i the high 70's and low 80's. Good mornings and evenings for shooting. Phil

Wayne the F2 is a great camera. Some heads meter with a needle some use light up diodes you have the chance to buy the type of metering you are comfortable with. I like the swinging needle so the F2A is my favorite.

The F2 AS (diodes) seem to command premium prices and does the mosel (maybe the same one) that handles ai lenses. It's like food. The stuff you really like always is the most expensive!

Jonathon,
Had an FM2n for about 6 months...bought it used...and sold it.
I too could not tolerate that advance lever standoff position as it was constantly smacking into my glasses or my forehead if I took the glasses off. Also was not fond of the 3 LED metering...I prefer a 'scale or pointer' of some sort to better judge over and under exposures you might want to make.
The F2 or F3 would be just right in my opinion. I do have an F3HP that is great.
