Alex, Brother and sister. AF-2 & AF-5 There are five variations of the AF and a lot of special models that carried advertising. The AF-2 & 5 are fairly common but the others are rather elusive. I am very fond of the Universal cameras. They are generally low priced, simple and usually quite rugged. The still cameras range from 16mm to 6x9 cm. Universal was not afraid of innovation. Their unique Mercury 35mm cameras I find especially appealing. I have two of their cameras which for some reason of which I am unaware are not listed in McKeown's; the 6x9 cm Roamer I a bellows camera and the very unusual 35 mm Buccaneer. Mickey

interesting little cameras you have there guys. i didnt know they exsisted! so i read up a little; but apparently at on time the company boasted 'making more cameras per year than any other company in the world' .seems they had a checkered and interesting history. from a buisness point they almost went bust a couple of times and didnt have a lot of respect from other manufacturers due to their buisness pratices but on the other hand were renown for coming up with inovative unique cameras! there is a book that is ment to relate all the history and the models and could be interesting...only repeating someone elses quote i havnt read it myself..but i looked it up and its still available on amazon;; Univex Story by Cynthia A. Repinski (Hardcover - Oct 1991) Buy new: $34.95 $26.565 Used & new from $26.56
my book even lists her address to get a copy directly; perhaps you could make inquireies directly to her about the 6x9 ..you never know she may be interested to see it herself if she hasnt got one, because apprantly most of the pictures in Mckeowns come from her
