I'm actually thinking of selling my Canon Digital Rebel. There's nothing wrong with it, and it takes great pictures, but I have my eye on the new digital Canon Xsi ... and in order to pull it off, need to sell a couple of things. It's been used, of course, and has the slight signs of wear you might expect, but it works great. I would include the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, the battery and charger, and an extra battery ... along with a 4MB Compact Flash card. I thought I might mention it here, before I listed it on evilBay ... in the hope someone either wanted it, or would talk me out of selling it. By the way, one of the other things I'm contemplating selling is a beautiful old 4x5 Speed Graphic, in very good shape. Any interest?

Mr. Herron,
The new Canon XSI seems like a nice and updated digital. I have never seen or held one, but you can find accounts galore on the website of Photography On The Net...aka...POTN.
If you or anyone would be interested in an older pro model!?!? I have a new, never used Canon 30D with a couple of lenses and accessories I want to get rid of. I have never even fired the shutter once.
I bought it while in a state of 'delirium', thinking the time had come to go digital...but, alas, I find I have absolutely no interest in really doing so.
For me...FILM FOREVER!!!
Any interest for further details and list of all items...PM me.
BTW...you can't go wrong with Canon or Nikon IMO.

The 30D is a nice camera and very much up to today's digital standards. Renaldo, you probably haven't tried it because you are afraid you would like it!

Thanks for the offer, Renaldo ... but I really have my heart set on that Canon Xsi .... I have another little P&S digital that I carry in the car ... but nothing will ever really replace my Mamiya film cameras (and the assorted others I've accumulated)

Check out the Shutterbug site, they have a article on the Xsi.
I love mine, I have taken more pictures in the last 2 months then in the last ten years of film. I still learning how to use the camera and process the digital files.

Thanks, Jack. I've seen the article. Shutterbug is one of the publications I still subscribe to. DC Review gives it a good rating, too. I may have to back away from the Xsi - for the moment. I have an old (1981) Corvette that just cost me $600 for a new radiator ... and is going to cost more, because in replacing the radiator we discovered a broken mount on the frame ... one the upper control arm bolts onto ... and it's not safe to drive with that break. That's going to set me back between $800-2000 to have it put in place and welded, depending on what they discover (and if they have to pull everything off the front of the engine to get at it).

I got my camera and 2 weeks later the timing chain went on my car an took the engine with it about $3500. Not a pleasant feeling.

Hmmm. A couple of months back I bought a 1993 Mustang LX with the V8 and 5 speed options. The electric fuel pump is kinda noisy. Probably a sign of impending failure. Haven't ordered a replacement pump yet but the camera/lens collection has grown. Guess I need to change my priorities.
I haven't had a V8 powered car since I sold my last Mustang about 19 years ago. What FUN!
