I've admitted 11 new members this week. Do any of you have anything to share with us about our hobby?

Hi, thanks for admitting me to Camera Collector, I am in the UK, (Bromley, Kent), and look forward to sharing some "jaw" with you. I will post some info on my meager collection of real cameras -ie non digital! Cheers! MIKE

Welcome to the forum 135mm. My wife and I stayed in Bromley in order to catch the Biggin Hill Airshow years ago.

Hi, Mike, Belated welcome to the forum.
As John says, you're within spittin' distance of me in Ashford (Kent) - if you can spit that far.
My sister used to live in Beckenham, which is within spittin' distance of Bromley - well almost, with the wind behind you. I stayed there during part of the daylight Blitz of 1940 when the house next door was hit but fortunately the occupants were at work. My sister's house suffered a couple of ceilings down, but that as all. I wasn't even scratched. The two houses across the road lost all their front windows and much of their roofing as well. Wierd things, explosions!
Unbeknowing to me my future wife Valerie was in Bromley at the same time, before I met her.
Valerie and I used to go to the Biggin Hill Air Show quite a lot at one time, in the days when you could walk around the planes and chat with the crews, but the last time we went there was so much security you couldn't even get near the planes on the ground and I haven't been there since. Both Valerie and I took lots of black and white pics. I had an idea I posted a couple on the forum some years ago, but in case my memory's failing I'll see if I can dig out the negs and post some more.
Regards,
PeterW

Hi, Mike! A belated welcome! I've been a little "busy" at home lately, and have not been keeping up with the Camera Collector as much as usual. Glad you found us, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your monochromes.

Just missed the war by 3 years but do know that the last V2 rocket fell in Orpington, consequently about where my daughter now lives. Still looking for the damn BH monos! -Mike

Hi, I live in Noroflk in the UK, I have always been interested in film cameras but could never afford anything interesting.
Don't hate me but I now buy all the stuff I could never afford, play with it then sell it on Ebay and others for a profit.
Not only do I get to own some great cameras but I also keep my wife happy as she thinks its purely business not compulsive collecting (I keep it well hidden).
Cameras I have sold recently: Agiflex lll mamiya 645 1000s
I have at the moment: 1930s Rolliecord mamiya Rb67 pro s Montanus Del Monta Ross Ensign Canon A1 Mamiya Prismat CPH Kiev Vega
arriving soon: Baby rollei Zorki 4k
Cameras I am keeping if my wife doesn't find out: canon 110 ed
Dislikes: Folding cameras (dont know why but I dont like them)
Likes: Weird and wonderful and expensive- Leica, hasselblad, rollei, mamiya
Would like to own: Rollei 2000/3003 system 35 (and keep)

Thanks for that.
Forgot one camera that goes in the weird wonderful and expensive (when new) catergory I have at the moment. Yashica X4.0 Actually I thought it was a video camera when I first saw it.

Welcome to all the newcomers. An infusion of new blood now and then on a forum is a real asset.

Welcome all, I haven't posted much lately but check in now and then. I have a nice little Minolta collection as well as Mamiya, Pentex, Hanimex and Chinon as well as a stable of assorted folders and a couple of 8mm movie cameras
