Johnny I believe you have a Leica A www.cameraquest.com/leicaa.htm . Leica introduced interchangeable lenses with the Leica C but initially each lens had to be matched to the individual camera as they had not standardized the film to flange distance yet. Sometime during the Leica C's production run the film to flange distance was standardized and all lenses would fit all cameras. That should cause you no concern as your camera has a fixed lens with no interchangeability capability. You may get an idea who may be able to CLA your Leica here www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65581 . Bob I forgot to mention that according to a reference book I have, the Leica A came with an Elmar that has two versions. The common version focused to 40 inches and the less common that focused to 18 inches. Roughly translated that would be 1 meter and .45 meter respectively.

You nailed it, Bob. The Cameraquest photos are indeed the same camera. Their 1926 model differs from mine (1930) in two ways: Mine has a simplified arrow graphic on the rewind knob and and a threaded collar around the shutter release, which assumedly was for a remote release. Everything else looks identical.
