Here it is: A black dial Contax IIa with 50mm f2 lens--camera rebuilt by Henry Scherer (one of the best-known Contax repair people). Shutter, film advance both as smooth as silk. Hope to have some sample photos tomorrow. Wayne

And even better--it was FREE!! Actually I'm going to sell a couple of other Contax IIa cameras on line for the owner and this is what I get for my trouble.

Here's a shot with some outdated 400 ISO Kodak high saturation film. A lot of grain. I'm going to try some Fuji.

Found an interesting tidbit of information about the Contax IIa: Back in the 1950s a new Contax IIa cost about the same as a new Chevrolet car! It's amazing there are many around today.

I'll wager most of those 1950's Chevrolets are all shot by now.
But those lovely old Contax IIa's just keep on shooting away.
