Hi ! I visited Prague at the weekend and took some snapshots with my old Casio Digi Cam. I thought maybe converting the pictures to B/W will bring out the feeling of this old town. Here is my attempt... The historic center is illuminated by gas lamps This is the birthplace of the writer Franz Kafka, he died in the street where i live The Charles University founded in 1348 A church in the prague castle A vintage car meets a vintage tramway A 1926 czech Tatra comming round the bend I convertet the pictures with a ca.10 years old "no name" program ( sadly i got no Photo Shop ). Mik:
Very nice shots and they do have an "old" feel.

Lovely pictures, Mik. Your no-name 10-year-old program did a brilliant job of converting to monochrome.
Also, the definition of the stonework in the old buildings is biting. You say your "old" Casio digicam. How many megapixels is it?
I was interested to see the nicely restored vintage cars in Prague. The Tatra made me blink a bit at first with its steering wheel on the right. Then I remembered that before WW2 cars drove on the left in Czechoslovakia, as they still do in the UK and a whole load of countries that were formerly part of the British Empire and, I believe, in Japan. I can't identify the car in picture 5 with its steering wheel on the left, but it's obviously not Czech-made.

I can only say I agree with the above posters. The photos have a nice look and feel. That Tatra really caught my eye, what a nice looking car with very clean lines.

Hi Peter ! The camera is a Casio Exilim pro with 6 MP, my father gave it to me as he bougt a new one. It will be 5 years "old" ( a lot in todays digital era ). I took a look in the www today and found out why there are so many vintage cars in the streets( I have seen ca. 20 in 1h): You can hire most of them for sightseeing tours. 1 hour / two persons ca. 45.- USD. In Austria the cars also drove on the left till 1935-1938, in the Czech Republic till 1938/1939. I assume that the car you could`nt identify is a 1929 Ford A model . Finally, a colour-picture of a "sightseeing" Skoda 430 from 1932. Mik

Excellent pictures, Photax, and the vehicles in keeping with the elderly buildings and streets.
But I was wondering about the cars, would a vintage car withstand the wear and tear of everyday use in city trafic? Or are they modern copies?

Hi Sid,
This are definitely ( beautiful restored ) original vintage cars. I heard the characteristical engine sound and the noise of the gearbox while shifting.
