By the way, Micro-Tools has a site for European customers, too.

I STILL have a pile of Nikons. Considering starting a collection of Ricoh SLRs and RFs.

Dave - is the shutter release on the 'front' of your Topcon? I'm not familiar with these but I can't see one on the winder or near the control knob. That silver button on the front looks like a threaded shutter release. Mark

Ron, thanks for the link. Mark, yes the shutter release is on the front. There is a copy of the manual available at: www.butkus.org/chinon/beseler/beseler_topcon_super_d/beseler_topcon_super_d.htm if you want a closer look at the camera. I remember it being claimed that having the release button there, rather than on the top, caused less camera shake. I am not sure if that is true and I'm also unsure if it was Topcon who made that claim or someone else. I see the competition thread is up to 17 pages. This is up to 2: I wasn't expecting that. I hadn't really thought of this camera as being a classic, never mind in the Japanese top 10., but then I just used it as a camera when I first got it.

TopCon SD Question......
Hi
How was the rubber originally attached, friction fit, glue, or what?
I have used a heat gun with part removed from camera and fast cooled it....in many cases , the shrinkage was considerable..

Rob, thanks. I might try that. It did just seem to be friction fit as original.

years ago i had the same problem with an old chinon lens my solution was to cut a cross section from an old bicycle innertube and strech it over the lens, of course it wasn't textured but it made a nice grip.

Michael,
Who created this "Top 10 Japanese cameras of all time" list?
