Not seen one of these before - looks very much like an Olympus! There is also a suspicion its made by Cosina (my how often does that name appear!) Well it was worth £6 to satisfy my curiosity. Not one of the all time greats because it is full auto - not obvious when it was advertised - I assumed with a f1.8 it would have all the bells & whistles! So far conventional, but take alook at this: What on earth does that spring loaded turnbuckle do? My thoughts were counter zero - nope! Self timer set - nope! Not multi exposure either! ( I twisted it and held the film advance spindle and advanced the leverwind ). Sure has me mystified! Any ideas. It is much larger than the little Ricoh 35s and I have never ever seen one before. Have you? Paul

New one on me too, Paul. But it is not bad looking. Be interesting to see what some more knowledgable members come up with.
Hey...glad you are recuperating. This up and down temps can be a heck of a season to catch the ills.

Hi Paul, What you have is a version of my Ricoh Elnica 35 M. Bit different frosted glass area by RF window, both 40mm f 1.8, but mine has shutter speed adjustment around the rim of the lens. The lever you're curious about is to wind the self timer. The longer arm with black line on it follows the curve of the arrow indicated to wind the self timer. To lock the timer you slide the chrome button on top to the right. To fire slide the button to the left. I also have an Elnica F but totally different camera, smaller, no self timer, GN numbers rather than shutter speeds and about 250 gms. lighter.

Looking in The Collector's Guide to Japanese Cameras, yours is the Ricoh Elnica 35 where mine obviously is the 35M. Hope this helps.
