I can confirm that the Vito BL non-folding, viewfinder, 35mm from the mid 50s has the same "faulty" shutter. The shutter is cocked via the film sprocket, not the take-up reel.
The Vito BL was my first "serious" camera, handed down from my uncle via my mother, complete with the blue "Voigtlander 1756-1956" box and some genuine Voigtlander close up lenses.
Many people love the solid little BL but, being a left eye shooter, I always found framing with its rather vague, 1:1 (plain glass) viewfinder a wee bit hit and miss.
