I have an XD11 that has proved to much for me ! I got it broken and it had been "repaired" the problems are in the wiper assembly needs a new wiper and a few other small parts in that area. otherwise it's pretty good if someone needs a parts camera or wants to fix it. I'll ship it with top off with all the parts in baggies. They were a great camera I wanted the better controls than the X700 which I have but like I said it's proved to much for me. I wonder if Minolta came up with a better wiper latter this one seems so fragile ? Jay

Very nice results Randy. I'm using your successful projects as inspiration - I've won that auction for the non-clicking XD11, complete with shrunken skin syndrome. I hope that I can get it going, as it'll make a nice comparison with the XE-1. The XE is a lovely, solid, competent camera, featuring (typically Minolta) advanced features for its age. Yet I've never quite "got on" with it. Probably a CLA would help, and to be honest, I'm just not putting the films through it to develop familiarity in the manner that I did with my "old favourite" Nikon F3. But I still feel that the XE plays second fiddle to the (admittedly 10 years younger) F3 as the ultimate expression of the all-metal, manual focus, electronic shutter, 35mm SLR (whew!). So, as I said, I'll be intrigued to see the much-vaunted and allegedly-refined younger sibling. Fingers crossed. Here are the vendor's pics of the XD. Hopefully the "after" will be posted soon: Michael, did you ever make any progress on that XD-11?

When I got my XD7, it looked pretty scrufy with peeling of the skin along the sides, but the camera worked and the meter is accurate. What I did was to gum back the peeling sides, gave it a coat of shoe polish as well as applying silver polish on the chrome. Presto, I've got an almost new camera.

Any MC/MD lens will fit SRT's and everything else up to the X-700.

This is an example of the type of projects we do. Take a moment and look at some of the old posts...you'll get inspired.
