This is the front of our next door neighbors' home. It was built in the 1860's, and has been totally remodeled since they bought it. I was responsible for restoring the inside woodwork, doors, floors, staircase & bannister, etc. It's quite a place I really enjoy woodworking ! Doug

Doug, it looks as if your woodwork is holding up under the extra weight of the snow. We need a porch making -'ll pay you to do it, but you'll have to sort out transport yourself. I phone a fried earlier. He was at Washington DC aeroport waiting for a flight back to Newark and then to Manchester UK. If he can't get back I'll send him up to you to stay.
Have you any photos of your handywork?
Dave.

Dave, I didn't do any outside work on the house, just the interior woodwork. I'm a cabinetmaker by trade, and specialize in antique furniture restoration. I worked on Helens' place because she saw some of the pieces I've restored, and asked me to do her doors. I couldn't say no because they're right next door and friends of ours as well. I have a few photos somewhere of pieces I've restored and will try to find them. I'll add a shot of our little Casa Demento too Doug

Doug,
If the inside is as splendid as the outside it must be magnificent.

Doug,
I've just had a thought - your house should be titled "next door to next door".
Dave.

Mickey, The inside is very nice. They've got a formal parlor with double pocket doors (they slide into the walls) , and most of the woodwork is a dark stained chestnut. There was at least 10 coats of various colored paint on each one. It was quite a job removing it. There's a widows walk on the roof, but it was closed off years ago. I've been trying to talk her into letting me try and restore that as well, but so far no luck. She loves Eastlake styled furnishings. I'll ask if I can get some interior shots. Dave, As long as it's not "on the other side of next door". Doug

You didn't clear much snow, did you! Dave, be fair. Zook has cleared the lot Or do you expect him to scrape the flower beds as well? Or am I so thick I missed your overstatement?
