The River Ouse, I presume. It's in Yorkshire, so the wrong side of the Pennines for Eden (with apologies to any Yorkies reading this).

If I may contribute to "Rivers" here is the American Queen docked at a landing just above Memphis, Tennessee: Just for scale, here is her paddle wheel, compare with the figure near the center of the wheel: Bob Wright

Not quite Memphis, but the Duchess Ferry on the Thames at Gravesend in Kent, UK earlier in the summer. Stephen.

Was that picture of the paddle wheel made recently? I thought the Mississippi river was so low that a boat that big couldn't navigate on it.

It is low, river barges have to be loaded less than full weight. But as to paddlewheel steamboats, there is a saying that "you can float them in a heavy dew." Her draft is more than an old time steamboat, but able to navigate for now. Bob Wright

The American Queen is only a few years old, built in 1995, and has a deeper draft that traditional "Hog Back" paddle steamers, as she has two auxiliary "Z drive" diesel electric propeller units under the hull to provide better manoeuvrability in the river.
It is the largest paddle steam ever built, larger that the Delta Queen, which regrettably lost it's legal status to sail with passengers, and is moored up as a floating hotel, which is quite outrageous according to the Scottish parliament, as it is somewhat forgotten that the Delta Queen was built in Scotland!! The US government is now involved in trying to save her from being abandoned or scrapped, and is trying to get a new legal exemption from fire regulations to allow limited use.

Ironbridge. by Mudplugga, on Flickr A few minutes from my front door is the River Severn, the longest river in the UK, and here it passes under the Worlds first cast iron bridge at Ironbridge. The whole area is now a World Heritage Site and considered to be the birthplace of the industrial revolution. Rolleiflex SL35 Planar 1.8 / 50 Ilford XP2 400
