I had one of these delightful cameras including all three lenses. We took it on a three week group tour in Mexico and got some high contrast chromes. Everyone should have one of these in their collection . Pete Hallock Orcutt, California

The Ambi Silette does exist as two types. The first type is the one with the annoying short advance lever. The second type, as noted above, has a far better advance lever and a reordering of the frame lines. But that is not the most important difference. A look at the front of the viewfinder/rangefinder window will reveal that the Type 2 rangefinder window is much farther to the right than the first version. This makes the rangefinder base wider. I suspect that a wider base was needed to get the necessary focusing accuracy for the 130mm Telinear that Agfa added to the lens lineup in 1959.
